Snow-covered architectural project

Crafting Cold-Climate Communities with Warmth and Innovation

We've been designing spaces that actually work in the cold for over a decade. Not just buildings that look good, but places people genuinely wanna live and work in.

Northern architecture detail

We get Northern architecture because we live it

Been working up here in Vancouver and across Canada's cold zones since 2011. Started because too many buildings were fighting against the climate instead of working with it. You know those places where you're freezing near the windows even though the thermostat's cranked? Yeah, we fix that.

Our designs aren't just about making things look nice - though they do - they're about creating spaces that embrace winter instead of trying to hide from it. Better insulation, smarter heating systems, materials that won't crack when it hits -30C.

More About Us

What we're actually good at

Residential Cold-Climate Design

Homes that keep you cozy without crazy heating bills. We've figured out the sweet spot between thermal efficiency and natural light.

Commercial Arctic Architecture

Built facilities in some seriously remote places. When your building needs to last through decades of harsh conditions, details matter.

Urban Planning & Site Development

Planning neighborhoods that actually function in winter. Snow management, wind patterns, winter walkability - stuff that gets overlooked too often.

Energy-Efficient Building Systems

Geothermal, passive solar, high-performance envelopes. Not buzzwords, just tech that works and pays for itself over time.

Heritage Building Restoration

Updating old buildings for modern winters while keeping their character. It's tricky but worth it when you nail it.

Landscape Architecture Integration

Your yard shouldn't die every winter. Native plants, hardscaping that handles freeze-thaw cycles, outdoor spaces you'll use year-round.

Recent stuff we're proud of

Featured project

Whistler Ridge Residence

Family home that stays warm at elevation. Triple-pane windows, radiant floor heating, and a design that makes the most of those mountain views without turning into an icebox.

Yukon Community Center

Public facility built to last in extreme conditions. Local materials where possible, backup systems for when the power goes out, and flexible spaces that work for the whole community.

Sustainability isn't optional up here

When you're dealing with extreme cold, energy efficiency becomes non-negotiable. We've been pushing for net-zero designs since before it was trendy because, honestly, it just makes sense.

Every project we do considers the long game - how it'll perform in 20 years, how it impacts the local environment, whether the materials are actually sustainable or just greenwashed.
